"Argentine President Javier Milei stood alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Sunday, backing Washington and Tel Aviv in their conflict with Iran during a press conference marking his third visit to Israel as head of state. "We express our firm support for the United States and Israel in their war against terrorism and against the Iranian regime," said the Argentine leader. The statement came after both national representatives signed air transport agreements and announced the first direct air route between Buenos Aires and Tel Aviv, expected to begin operating in November 2026. Milei reaffirmed his alignment with Israel on international security and the fight against terrorism and presented a regional diplomatic initiative aimed at strengthening cooperation between both countries and allies. "We present the Agreements of Isaac, an initiative that seeks to extend that same spirit to Latin America, strengthen diplomatic, commercial, cultural and strategic ties between Israel and the nations of our region and add wills in the fight against terrorism, antisemitism and drug trafficking," he declared. The Argentine leader also highlighted the work of US President Donald Trump in the war against Iran, which began at the end of February and has strained the Middle East region with global repercussions due to rising prices of commodities, mainly oil and gas. "In this line, President Trump currently maintains his unwavering conviction that the Middle East needs peace, growth and development, away from the extremisms that have caused so much damage in the past and his leadership is key to putting an end to the instability of the region," proclaimed Milei. He then announced his intention to relocate the Argentine embassy, which is currently in Tel Aviv, to Jerusalem, "as soon as conditions allow it.""
