"US Marines seized an Iranian-flagged Touska cargo ship after it reportedly ignored repeated warnings while attempting to breach the US-enforced naval blockade near the Arabian Sea. Footage released by the US Department of War on the social media platform X on Monday shows multiple helicopters taking off from the CENTCOM-stationed USS Tripoli (LHA-7). Night footage also shows Marines dropping and seizing the container ship. Earlier, US destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) reportedly fired several rounds, 'disabling' the Touska's engines. According to CENTCOM, Touska transited the north Arabian Sea at 17 knots en route to Bandar Abbas, Iran. "After Touska’s crew failed to comply with repeated warnings over a six-hour period, Spruance directed the vessel to evacuate its engine room," it said in a statement. US President Donald Trump said that US Marines had gained custody of the vessel after a 'fair' warning to pass the blockade. "The TOUSKA is under US Treasury Sanctions because of their prior history of illegal activity. We have full custody of the ship, and are seeing what’s on board!" he added. This comes as Pakistan is preparing to host the second round of peace talks between the US and Iran to end the weeks-long war that has pushed the wider region into conflict. Both sides are accusing each other of violating the ceasefire. "My Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan - They will be there tomorrow evening, for Negotiations," Trump wrote on Truth Social. Guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111)'s claims cannot be independently verified. The exact date and location of the footage shared by the Department of War cannot be independently verified.
