The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nationwide heatwave alert in India, warning of a 2–4°C rise in temperatures across north and central regions, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. With severe heatwave conditions, rising AQI levels in Delhi, and temperatures crossing 43°C in Raipur, experts warn of increasing heat stress, dehydration risks, and public health concerns. A western disturbance from April 23 may bring temporary relief, but extreme heatwave conditions in India are expected to persist.
