PNP: Over 1,000 erring cops dismissed since August 2025

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,010 erring police officers were dismissed from the service across the country between August 26, 2025, and April 15, 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Monday. Although it did not specify which units the cops were dismissed from or why, the PNP noted that 326 of the officers’ dismissals were issued by Police Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. The agency also reported that 118 erring police officers were dismissed for being absent without official leave (AWOL).
