'Build a better, welcoming world' - Pope Leo XIV's message to Angolan youth as thousands join mass rosary event in Muxima

"Pope Leo XIV urged the youth to 'build a better world' during his homily as thousands of people flocked to the Mama Muxima shrine in Luanda Province on Sunday. Footage shows the pontiff arriving at the sacred site and waving to the crowds. Attendees can also be seen singing and dancing after the rosary event. "Our Lady asks us to let ourselves be enveloped by the feelings of her heart, to be like agents of justice and bearers of peace in this place," he said. "Young people, take this as a sign. To you, too, indeed, the Mother of Heaven entrusts a great project of building a better, welcoming world, where there are no more wars, no injustices, no misery, no dishonesty, and where the principles of the Gospel inspire and change your hearts more and more," he continued. Pope Leo XIV arrived in the Angolan capital, Luanda, on Saturday, and is expected to visit the towns of Muxima and Saurimo during his four-day stay. Key events so far include an airport welcoming ceremony and a meeting with President Joao Lourenco.  The historic 10-day apostolic journey began in Algeria on April 13 and is due to continue in Angola and Equatorial Guinea through April 23."
