MANILA, Philippines — Three areas experienced a dangerous heat index on Monday, according tothe state weather bureau. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that as of 5 p.m., Sangley Point, Cavite logged the highest peak heat index for the day at 43ºC. This marked the second consecutive day Sangley Point recorded a danger-level heat index after peaking at 44ºC on Sunday. Meanwhile, Baler, Aurora and Iloilo City both had a heat index of 42ºC.
