THE Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) said applicants can now obtain their Postal ID on the same day at its branch on the fifth floor of the Government Express Center in SM City Manila. In an advisory, PHLPost said applications for same-day processing will be accepted between 11 a.m. and 12 noon. Requests filed beyond the cutoff will be processed for release the following day. Postal ID cards are released at 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. The agency said the move forms part of its ongoing expansion of satellite post offices in major shopping malls nationwide, aimed at improving public access to postal services by placing them in high-traffic locations. Applicants are required to appear in person and submit a completed application form, along with one valid proof of identity and proof of address. Accepted identification documents include a Philippine Statistics Authority-issued birth certificate, National ID, UMID, driver’s license, passport, or any government-issued ID bearing the applicant’s photo and signature. Proof of address may include a barangay certificate, utility bill, lease contract or similar documents. PHLPost said the Postal ID remains among the most widely accepted government-issued identification cards in the country, commonly used for financial transactions and other official purposes. Processing fees are P550 for regular applications and P650 for rush processing.
