"The United Arab Emirates underscored its growing influence in the global defence sector at the 19th edition of the Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA 2026) in Kuala Lumpur, showcasing leading defence firms that have unveiled a suite of autonomous systems, AI-driven sensors, and maritime solutions aimed at the Southeast Asian market. The UAE Pavilion, organised by ADNEC Group in coordination with the Ministry of Defence and the Tawazun Council, has become a focal point for high-level military delegations. Among the lead exhibitors is EDGE, whose leadership highlighted the strategic necessity of the Malaysian gateway. "Our main objective of participating in this exhibition is to bridge the gap between the UAE and the Malaysian and South East Asia markets to show the growth capabilities of the United Arab Emirates when it comes to different technologies," Abdelrahman Al-Rousi, Director of Strategy & Business Development at EDGE, said. "Today we are proud to say that we are one of the main key players and we want to prove that by showing our products and technologies in Malaysia and this market," he continued. Al-Rousi noted that the company is specifically focusing on autonomous domains to meet modern battlefield requirements. "We are focusing more on the technological products and technologies when it comes to autonomous systems, for example, UAVs, USVs, some AI sensors like radars, electro-optics," he added. The geographic complexity of the Asia-Pacific region, with its vast archipelagos and shallow waters, has also driven demand for specialised maritime hardware. ASIS Boats, an advanced maritime solution provider, introduced integrated defence systems designed to counter emerging aerial threats. "This year we are exhibiting our latest solutions where we are integrating a new defence system into our vessels; you have an anti-drone solution which can be launched automatically from our boats to fight off any attacking drones," Mario Hoyek, Business Development Manager of ASIS, said. "We know exactly what to offer for this specific region." DSA 2026 is held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from April 20 to 23, concurrently with NATSEC Asia 2026. The event is ranked among the top five largest defenсe and homeland security exhibitions in the world."
