Easterlies to bring warm, humid weather in Metro Manila, parts of PH

MANILA, Philippines — The weather system - the easterlies – has resurfaced and is expected to bring warm and humid weather over Metro Manila and  most parts of the country over the next three days, the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday. Weather specialist Veronica Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said easterly winds would also affect Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan). The Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao will  have the same weather system in which partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms would occur. “During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides would be possible in these areas,” the Pagasa forecaster warned. In its 5 a.m. advisory, the national weather bureau said the rest of Luzon would likely experience a similar weather pattern but due to the localized thunderstorms. The highest heat index is likely to occur anew over Sangley Point, Cavite at 43 degrees Celsius, which falls under danger category. Metro Manila, meanwhile, may hit 39 degrees Celsius heat index on Tuesday, it added.
