MANILA, Philippines — Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala has stepped down as chair of Globe Telecom after nearly 30 years, with longtime Ayala executive Cezar Consing elected to succeed him. In a disclosure on Tuesday, Globe said its board chose Consing as the new chair during an organizational meeting held on April 21, immediately following the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting. Zobel, also known as “Jaza,” had served as Globe’s chair since 1996 and had been on its board since 1989.
