MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy’s (DOE) price adjustment is preferable than allowing private oil firms control, Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said on Tuesday. Lacson made the remark after the DOE announced on Monday that it has the authority to prescribe the price of petroleum products during crisis situations. “The government must use the powers granted to it under a state of national energy emergency.
