Women killed in two traffic accidents

Two pedestrians were struck and killed in separate traffic accidents on Tuesday morning. Police said they were alerted at around 8.51am that a 30-year-old woman was hit by a light goods vehicle when crossing the road near Yau Tong MTR Station. She was taken to United Christian Hospital with serious injuries to her head and limbs and was later pronounced dead. In another incident, officers received a report at around 8.57am of a coach travelling along Kwu Tung Road towards San Tin hitting a 41-year-old woman. The pedestrian was sent to North District Hospital after suffering serious head injuries. She was certified dead at the hospital. The drivers involved in both accidents were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death. Edited by Thomas McAlinden
