Police probe as mob of thugs chase student into US university dorm before launching violent attack

Police have launched a probe to identify a mob of teenagers accused of chasing a university student into a dorm before launching a violent attack. The incident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began at 2.50am on April 19 when the group chased the student into a dormitory. Pennsylvania authorities are now searching for a group of juveniles at Temple University who allegedly began attacking the student once inside the lobby of the residence hall. The suspects also allegedly damaged university property within Morgan Hall South, authorities said. TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say Sophomore Emmanuel Turner said the incident made him fear for safety on campus. "It puts the threat actually into perspective because, especially knowing as a college student, your main priority is education, not really safety, but this happening is a little bit more in the forefront," he said. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene, authorities said. A security officer at the university was also attacked in the incident, but was uninjured, Gaetano Sava, the Temple Deputy Police Chief said. Authorities have now released images of the juvenile suspects, a group of nine individuals. Some of the suspects are seen with masks and hoods concealing their identities. Others have their face visible in the surveillance footage. Authorities have not made it clear what led up to the alleged incident, and no arrests have been made.
