Hot, humid weather to prevail over most of PH

MANILA, Philippines – Hot, humid winds passing through the Pacific Ocean, or the easterlies, would bring hot and humid weather in most parts of the archipelago within 24 hours, the national weather agency said on Wednesday. In particular, the easterly winds would affect the Visayas, Mindanao, and Southern Luzon, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. She said the same weather system, however, would bring partly cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), and MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan). In its 5 a.m. advisory, the state-run weather bureau said the rest of Luzon would likely have a similar weather pattern, but due to localized thunderstorms. It added that it has not monitored any low-pressure area forming inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days. A heat index of 38 degrees Celsius is possible over Metro Manila on Wednesday, and the highest could be recorded and felt over Aparri, Cagayan, at 42 degrees Celsius, which falls under the danger category, according to Pagasa.
