CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The city’s disaster risk reduction and management office (DRRMO) on Wednesday warned residents of dangerous heat levels after the heat index reached 42 degrees Celsius late morning. In an advisory issued at 11 a.m., the DRRMO said the recorded heat index at the Calapan City Public Market monitoring station fell under the “danger” category, which increases the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
