"Member of UK Parliament Jeremy Corbyn at the inaugural Global Sumud Parliamentary Congress in Brussels on Wednesday said the British government is 'complicit in genocide' in case it sends arms to Israel. "If the ICJ says acts of genocide have taken place, and if the British government continued supplying weapons to Israel knowing that such acts were occurring, then Britain itself is also complicit in genocide," Corbyn said. He blamed the ministers who authorised these actions and added, "We have published the report and sent a message to the ICJ and the ICC, inviting them to call Keir Starmer, Yvette Cooper, and David Lammy to give evidence in a session on Britain’s complicity in genocide." According to the MP, parliamentarians alone will not be enough to advance the Palestinian cause. He said the only reliable allies for the Palestinian people are those who 'take to the streets all over the world'. Supporting protest and flotilla movements, Corbyn said, "That's why demonstrations outside arms factories are important. That's why raising awareness through every possible means is absolutely vital. The Palestinian people will survive. The Palestinian people will win." The Global Sumud Flotilla set sail from Barcelona on April 12 with over 70 vessels and 1,000 participants from more than 70 countries. It marks the latest activist-led attempt to break the blockade, after a similar flotilla was intercepted by the Israeli navy in October 2025."
