"More than 400,000 devotees celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Manaoag, one of the Philippines' most revered Marian statues. The footage filmed in Manaoag on Wednesday, shows massive crowds of devotees gathering for the celebration at the basilica square. Ceremony with a priest placing crown and procession marching with the statue at night, as well as a drone show could also be seen. "This is an important occasion because Manaoag with the Blessed Virgin Mary, her image here is a centre of pilgrimage for many Filipinos and people abroad," said Fr. Pablo Tiong, vice rector for religious affairs of the Parish. The celebration commemorates the 1926 Vatican recognition of the Marian image, which has since become a major pilgrimage focus for Filipinos and overseas devotees. "I pray that there will be peace on earth, especially the war in the Middle East would stop," said Irene Bersola, a devotee from Manaoag. Many devotees spoke of answered prayers, reinforcing the image's reputation among followers as miraculous. "I have many prayers that were answered like a good day to day life, good health for my family," said Edwin Cusi, another devotee from Dagupan City. Statue of the Virgin Mary holding Child Jesus was brought to the Philippines by the Catholic Priest Father Juan de San Jacinto in 17th century."
