"A camel was filmed by a drone wandering amongst scattered rubbish on the Mangystau steppe in Kazakhstan on Thursday. Footage shows the animal searching for food amongst the plastic waste. According to media reports, the Mangystau Region Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management explained that the site is an active landfill for solid household waste. The department reported that on April 18, routine clean-up operations were carried out at the landfill site and surrounding areas, however a fire then broke out on April 20. During the firefighting operation and due to strong winds, light waste such as plastic film, paper and other materials were blown across the steppe. Clean-up work is currently underway at the landfill site and surrounding areas. Specialist services and equipment have been deployed to deal with the aftermath of the accident. "
