NLEX enforces rerouting, road closures in Quezon City for Northlink works

MANILA, Philippines — Motorists in Bagbag, Quezon City will have to slow down or take alternate routes from April 22 to April 30 as the North Luzon Expressway enforces traffic restrictions for its Northlink construction works. NLEX Corp. said Class 1 vehicles would be allowed under a stop-and-go scheme until 9:59 p.m. on April 30, while Class 2 and Class 3 vehicles were advised to use alternate routes. From 10 p.m. on April 30 until 5 a.m. on May 4, the affected road section will be fully closed. The advisory covers the Katipunan Kaliwa Street-Lukaria Street stretch and is part of traffic management for the construction of the NLEX-C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 Section 1A. For motorists from Novaliches heading to Quirino Highway via Gen. Luis Street, all vehicle classes may pass through Gen. Luis Street, turn left to Katipunan Avenue, then left at Berkeley Street toward P. Dela Cruz before proceeding to Quirino Highway. For Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles from Novaliches going to Quirino Highway via Gen. Luis Street, NLEX said they may also turn from Gen. Luis Street to Katipunan Avenue, then right to King Christopher Street toward Quirino Highway. Motorists coming from NLEX and heading to Novaliches were advised to take the Mindanao Avenue exit, turn right onto Mindanao Avenue, make a U-turn after the Tullahan Bridge, then continue along Mindanao Avenue and turn right to Gen. Luis Street toward Novaliches Proper. NLEX said the temporary traffic scheme was meant to give way to the Northlink project.
