MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte said that her travel plans have "changed" after the Office of the President (OP) issued a travel authority for her on Wednesday night. Executive Secretary Ralph Recto confirmed that the OP issued a travel authority for Duterte from April 23 to May 15, covering several countries including The Netherlands, South Korea, and Germany. In a statement, Duterte thanked the OP but said that her plans "have since changed due to uncertainty whether I will be permitted to depart." She added that a new request would be issued soon and urged the OP to ensure that the "necessary documents be processed and issued promptly, allowing sufficient time for travel preparations rather than only a few hours before the intended departure," She also said that ensuring "the confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive documents would greatly contribute to maintaining effective security arrangements," after an online news released the first travel request.
