"A rally in opposition to the US-Israeli war on Iran turned violent in London on Wednesday as demonstrators were stabbed - and police admitted 'no arrests' had been made. Some media reports quoted witnesses as blaming 'pro-Shah counter-protesters' for the violence although this cannot be independently verified at time of publication. Footage shows officers examining and providing first aid to one demonstrator, who is seen with a visible wound on his face and blood dripping from his injury. "I went to the police officer and said, someone has just barged through," an activist said, suggesting cops took no action. "They said that they will pass this information up the chain, but we still had this stabbing actually taking place." "Due to this kind of lax attitude, this attitude of racism that exists towards Muslims <...> it has enabled an environment to be created where someone was able to run rampage," he continued. According to London's Metropolitan Police, an air ambulance service responded to 'reports of a stabbing on Harlesden High Street' at 6:25 pm local time. "Two men in their 20s were taken to hospital by paramedics, both with stab wounds," the statement added. "At this early stage of the investigation, no arrests have been made." Other protesters, meanwhile, gathered with chants, Iranian flags and signs bearing pro-Khamenei slogans such as 'Choose the right side of history', 'Stop Israeli war crimes', and 'Stop genocide. Hands off Iran'. "400, 500 years of the colonisation by Europe, of different parts of the world, has alerted us to the fact that this is common practice in the people who have been colonising, in the people who are the oppressors," the activist added. Demonstrators also expressed outrage at US President Donald Trump and the British government over allowing Washington to use its air base in the Middle East. "Instead of spending money on fuel, on the cost of living crisis, on helping the people of this country, they are helping with this war," one protester said, slamming Prime Minister Keir Starmer as a 'barefaced liar'. "Trump brings his son-in-law. His only qualification is marrying Trump's daughter. He brings him to the table, whilst Iran brings multiple PhDs. Men with grace, with patience, with humility," she continued. "And it's this behaviour and this steadfastness that has let Iran get to this stage where a world superpower is on its knees." It comes as Trump declared a unilateral extension of the ceasefire on Tuesday, ahead of Wednesday's deadline. The US and Iran agreed on a two-week ceasefire on April 8, following five and a half weeks of fighting - and a global energy crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Both sides have accused each other of violating the truce. Talks were held in Islamabad on April 11-12 with no breakthrough. "
