MANILA, Philippines — Four areas registered “danger” level peak heat indices on Thursday, April 23, the state weather bureau said. Based on data released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) as of 5 p.m. of April 23, Cotabato City, Maguindanao reached a peak of 44ºC, logging the highest recorded heat index for the day. Aside from Cotabato, Butuan City, Agusan del Sur; Iloilo City, Iloilo; and Sangley Point, Cavite City each recorded peak indices of 42ºC.
