CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The province was placed under red alert on Friday, April 24, as the local electric cooperative projected significant power deficits during all peak periods of the day. Data from the Integrated Control and Command Center of the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative (Ormeco) showed that available supply is 58.71 megawatts (MW), insufficient to meet expected demand throughout the day.
