MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bam Aquino has filed a measure seeking to strengthen and address gaps in the country’s current anti-drunk and drugged driving law to further protect Filipino youth. Under Senate Bill No. 2068, received by the Senate Office of the Secretary on Thursday, Aquino seeks to amend Republic Act No. 10586, or the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013, citing its alleged failure to keep up with the realities on the country’s roads, as data show that road crashes are among the leading causes of death for young Filipinos.
