Palace tells Duterte lawyer: Stay focused on case, not politics

MANILA, Philippines — Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Friday asserted that Atty. Nicholas Kaufman, chief legal counsel of former President Rodrigo Duterte, is “losing track” of his case because he has been closely monitoring Philippine politics. In a Viber message to reporters, Castro also advised Kaufman to focus on defending Duterte rather than on the political careers of Vice President Sara Duterte, Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, and Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte.
