CEBU CITY, Philippines — Mayor Nestor Archival is considering tighter regulations, including a possible ban on kite flying in high-risk areas following recent string-related accidents along the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX). This comes after two separate incidents in which motorcycle riders were injured when a kite string snagged their necks while traversing the CCLEX. In an interview on Friday, April 24, Archival said the city government is now assessing whether kite flying, particularly near major roads and bridges, should be more strictly regulated or prohibited.
