CA issued freeze order on Romualdez assets, says Ombudsman

MANILA, Philippines — Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said the Court of Appeals (CA) issued a freeze order on the assets of Leyte 1st District Rep. and Ferdinand Martin Romualdez. "Yes", Remulla said when asked in DZRH's Executive Session on Saturday whether the court granted the petition for a freeze order. In a press briefing last April 21, 2026, Remulla said the Office of the Ombudsman endorsed a complaint to the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and that his office was waiting for the AMLC to seek a freeze order on the former speaker.
