ILOILO CITY — High heat index levels continue to persist across the Visayas, with several areas, including Iloilo, remaining under the extreme caution and dangerous levels, according to the state weather bureau. Data from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) as of 5 p.m. on Saturday showed Iloilo City reaching a heat index of up to 43°C in recent days, while Dumangas town peaked at 46°C, placing both areas under levels where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, and heat stroke becomes possible with prolonged exposure.
