"President Donald Trump has cancelled the second round of high-stakes talks in Islamabad, recalling his envoys after claiming the Iranian leadership is plagued by 'tremendous infighting'. "I'll deal with whoever runs the show. They are fighting with each other. They're probably fighting for leadership in many cases. I think they're fighting not to be the leader because we knocked out two levels of leaders," Trump told reporters in Florida on Saturday. "I'll deal with whoever we have to. But there's no reason to wait two days, have people travelling for 16, 17 hours. We're not doing it that way. We'll do it - when they want, they can call me," he added. US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were due to travel to Pakistan on Saturday for potential direct talks with Iranian officials in Islamabad. On Friday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Iran 'wants to talk in person', adding that the US would dispatch envoys for renewed negotiations. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi left Islamabad after meeting Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir. Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week truce with Iran to allow for negotiations aimed at reaching an agreement to end the crisis. He later extended it to allow Tehran to present a 'unified proposal' without specifying a timeframe. The first round of direct talks between the United States and Iran was held in Islamabad on April 11 and 12, following a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire on April 8. That round ended without an agreement, as diplomatic efforts continue over a new round of negotiations."
