TACLOBAN CITY — The municipal government of Paranas in Samar has warned residents against a suspected investment scam after several locals reported losing money to a group calling itself the “Royal Kingdom of Maharlika” (RKOM). According to local officials, the group has been selling colored “membership cards” priced from ₱150 up to P5,500, claiming investors could receive returns of as much as P5 million. While the entry cost appears minimal, authorities said some victims ended up spending far more after purchasing multiple cards.
