If elected officials with exact surname are banned (up to 2nd degree of affinity and/or consanguinity), an estimate of 5,763 elected seats out of 17,887 or 32% of seats would be freed. This data is calculated by the Ateneo School of Government Policy Center using 97.37% of 2025 election results, using the same formula as the Sanggunian Kabataan law’s provision.
