COTABATO CITY — Three members of the Dawlah Islamiyah group, allegedly behind the March 28 ambush of five police officers in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur, were killed in a military operation on Sunday, April 26, the Army said. Lt. Col. Ronald Suscano, spokesperson for the 6th Infantry Division, said the suspects were killed during a “surgical operation” in Barangay Tuayan, Datu Hoffer. Troops also recovered three high-powered firearms and ammunition. He said the slain individuals were part of the group behind the attack on personnel of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company.
