MANILA, Philippines — A dangerous heat index of 46ºC was recorded in Puerto Princesa, Palawan and Dagupan City, Pangasinan on Monday, the state weather bureau said. Fourteen other areas nationwide were likewise gripped by dangerous heat indices. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said heat index refers to how hot it actually feels to the human body when air temperature and humidity are combined.
