Zaldy Co back on the run in Europe, Vida admits: ‘He is free’

[Updated April 28, 2026, 9:38 a.m.] MANILA, Philippines — Zaldy Co is no longer in the custody of the Czech Republic. This was confirmed by Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida.  “I have to share difficult news mga Kababayan, the Czech authorities have confirmed to us that Mr. Zaldy Co is no longer in their custody,” Vida said in a press briefing held at the Philippine Embassy in Prague. Co was indeed accosted on April 16 due to immigration violations, but he was subsequently released, Vida explained.
