"Audias Flores Silva, also known as 'El Jardinero', a high-ranking member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was transported by air under heavy security measures to the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) on Monday evening following his arrest in Nayarit during a joint operation by federal forces. According to information from the Security Cabinet, 'El Jardinero' is also wanted by US authorities, who have issued an extradition request for him due to alleged links to international drug trafficking and other crimes. The arrest of the alleged criminal leader took place in the state of Nayarit, in an operation led by the Secretariat of the Navy as part of a coordinated Security Cabinet effort, carried out without clashes and aimed at ensuring his transfer to federal facilities in the capital. The arrest has reportedly triggered a series of violent reactions in different areas of Nayarit, where roadblocks and the burning of businesses and vehicles were reported after news of his capture emerged. According to local media, 'El Jardinero' was considered the successor to 'El Mencho', the top leader of the CJNG killed by security forces in February 2026."
