"The capture of Audias Flores Silva, also known as 'El Jardinero' (The Gardener), a suspected member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, led to a wave of violence in the state of Nayarit in western Mexico on Monday afternoon. Drone footage filmed in the municipality of Tecuala shows businesses, convenience stores, and supermarkets on fire, creating large plumes of smoke that can be seen for miles around. According to preliminary reports from authorities, roadblocks were also set up on major highways, leading to traffic disruptions and the temporary suspension of activities in some areas. The unrest was concentrated mainly in the northern part of the state, which is considered strategic due to its proximity to the border with Sinaloa. Elements of the National Guard, the Ministry of National Defence, and state forces reportedly deployed operations in the region to restore order and clear blocked roads, while patrols continue on highways and in urban areas. So far, no arrests have been made and no official death toll has been released as a result of the clashes and fires. For its part, the state government issued a press release urging the public to remain informed only through official channels and to limit their travel."
