"President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump took King Charles and Queen Camilla for a tour of the gardens, complete with a White House-shaped beehive on the South Lawn, as the royals begin their four-day state visit to US. Footage shows King Charles talking to White House assistant pastry chef Carlo Figarella as they look at the honey display ahead of afternoon tea with the Trumps. Marking their first trip to the United States, Charles and Camilla will also tour New York City and Virginia, and the King is set to address both houses of the US Congress. The last monarch to address the US Congress was his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, during her state visit in 1991. The visit comes as US-UK ties have deteriorated since Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom in September 2025. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer publicly confronted Trump over the Greenland acquisition issue. Trump has also criticised the UK and other NATO allies over their lack of support in the Iran war."
