Pakistan secures early repatriation of 54 nationals detained in Cambodia: FO

The Pakistan Embassy in Cambodia has successfully negotiated the early repatriation of 54 Pakistani nationals detained in Siem Reap province, the Foreign Office (FO) said on Tuesday. The individuals, arrested in connection with a raid on a scam operation, will be flown back to Pakistan as soon as flight arrangements are finalized, the FO spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said in a statement. He confirmed that the Embassy’s efforts were in alignment with directives from Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister to ensure the welfare of the Pakistani community abroad. The detainees are expected to leave Cambodia promptly, marking a swift resolution to the matter, thanks to the Embassy’s intervention.
