CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) has cleared Governor Pamela “Pam” Baricuatro of cyberlibel, reversing an earlier finding of probable cause and ordering the withdrawal of the criminal charge filed against her. In a resolution promulgated on April 20, 2026, the DOJ granted Baricuatro’s petition for review. This set aside a January 9, 2024, ruling by the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Cebu, which had previously indicted Baricuatro for one count of cyberlibel.
