MANILA, Philippines — At least 11 areas are forecast to record “danger” level heat indices on Labor Day, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). Pagasa defines heat index as the heat felt by the human body when air temperature and humidity are combined. “Danger” level heat indices range between 42ºC and 51ºC and bring increased risks of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, which could then lead to heat stroke.
