"UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, with both sides discussing recent regional developments. Footage shows the two ministers holding talks alongside delegations from both countries. According to the Emirates News Agency, discussions focused on developments in the region and their impact on regional and international security. For its part, France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs said Barrot reiterated Paris’s condemnation of what it described as unacceptable attacks by Iran against neighbouring countries, including the UAE. Tensions have escalated since the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28, prompting retaliatory strikes across the region. US President Donald Trump later announced a temporary truce aimed at enabling negotiations, which has since been extended without a defined end date. Meanwhile, Iran has imposed restrictions on traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, while the US Navy has maintained a blockade of Iranian ports despite the ceasefire."
