"Donald Trump told reporters his two options on Iran were 'blast the hell out of them and finish them forever' or 'try to make a deal' as he spoke with reporters on the White House lawn on Friday. A reporter put to him: "CENTCOM commander come in here yesterday. Was he briefing you on a different approach? Options. What kind of options? How would it look? Different options." Trump replied: "I mean, do we want to go and just blast the hell out of them and finish them forever? Or do we want to try and make a deal? I mean, those are the options." It came amid reports from Iranian media that Tehran had submitted its latest response to US revisions of a potential deal, via Pakistani intermediaries. Talks had appeared to stall after the first round last month, with Trump extending the initial ceasefire after the second round failed to materialise."
