"Gabriel Castillo Amador, a four-year-old child, conducted the Symphony Orchestra of the Puebla Conservatory during Children's Day celebrations in Mexico's Puebla on Thursday. Footage shows Gabriel standing in front of the orchestra and leading the performance of 'Circus March' as musicians follow his baton. The Secretary of Art and Culture in Puebla, Fritz Glockner, has officially recognised him as a 'musical jewel'. His teacher, Karina Moreno, explained that he demonstrated an unusual ability to identify notes and distinguish sounds. "He pays close attention to everything, from the buses to the sounds to how many benches there are. He pays close attention to all of that. And so that's what leads him to use the same body language, or what it feels like when we go dancing; that's what he feels," Moreno said. The director of the Puebla Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, Gaudencio Morales Castillo, went further and described the child as a prodigy. "He himself mentioned that his family isn't musical. So I think he was born with it. Someone said, and I don't believe it, but they said it, that he was reincarnated in that body, even though he was a conductor before. I don't believe it. Honestly, I don't. I think it's a gift he has, and I hope he makes the most of it," Castillo said. In Mexico, Children's Day is observed annually on April 30 and is marked with cultural and educational activities aimed at promoting children's participation in public life. In Puebla, institutions often use the occasion to promote engagement in the arts, with conservatories opening their doors to families. Officials at the conservatory stated that such initiatives intend to nurture emerging talent throughout the region."
