Smoke and sirens over Habbouch - Six killed, several wounded in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon following evacuation warning

"Thick plumes of smoke billowed over the town of Habbouch in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh district on Friday after Israeli airstrikes targeting alleged Hezbollah infrastructure killed six people and injured several others. Footage shows ambulances rushing to the emergency entrance of Al-Najda Al-Shaabiya Hospital. Lebanon's National News Agency reported that "hostile Israeli warplanes launched a series of violent airstrikes today on the town of Habbouch in the Nabatieh district, less than an hour after the enemy army issued an evacuation warning to its residents. Casualties have been reported." The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 has risen to 2,618, with 8,094 others injured. Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a warning to residents of the village of Habbouch to evacuate and move 'at least 1,000 meters away to open terrain'. Despite the declared ceasefire, the Israeli Government Press Office announced earlier on Saturday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered the Israeli army to 'launch powerful strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon'. On April 15, US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and confirmed on April 23 its extension for three weeks following direct talks hosted by Washington between Lebanese and Israeli officials. Israel has indicated that it intends to establish a 'security zone' within Lebanese territory extending from the border up to the Litani River, which accounts for approximately 10% of Lebanon's total area."
