TAGBILARAN CITY — A rare mollusc discovered in Bohol has captured international attention after placing second in the 2026 International Mollusc of the Year (IMOY) competition, highlighting the Philippines’ unique marine biodiversity. The species, Lithoredo abatanica, locally known as “antingaw,” garnered 5,097 votes to secure the first runner-up spot behind the Mediterranean Vampire Snail (Cumia intertexta), which won this year’s global tilt announced on April 30.
