Haze dissipates: Metro Cebu air quality hits ‘fair’ levels

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Air quality across Metro Cebu has improved steadily over the last few days, with monitoring stations now reporting generally “fair” conditions, according to the Environmental Management Bureau in Central Visayas (EMB-7). On Saturday, May 2, the EMB-7 monitoring station in Talisay City recorded a “fair” air quality index (AQI) of 60 for fine particulate matter (PM2.5). The same station logged a “good” AQI of 35 for inhalable particulate matter (PM10), with both measurements remaining within established guideline values.
