Army Bomb Squad Destroys Suspected Explosive Near Moulsang Village in Manipur

The Indian Army on Thursday neutralised a suspected explosive device found in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, preventing a possible threat to civilians in the area. According to an official statement, troops conducting a routine patrol near Moulsang village on 30 April 2026 spotted a suspicious object. The area was immediately secured after the device was suspected to be an old unexploded ordnance. Following the alert, a Bomb Disposal Team from the Red Shield Division was rushed to the site. The surrounding area was cordoned off and safety protocols were put in place. An Explosive Detector Dog was also used to assist in the assessment of the threat. After confirming the presence of explosives, the Bomb Disposal Team carried out a controlled in-situ destruction of the device. The operation was completed successfully without any damage to life or property. Officials said the timely action prevented any potential harm to civilians and highlighted the Army’s continued vigilance in sensitive regions of Manipur. The PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence for Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, stated that the Indian Army remains committed to ensuring the safety of civilians and maintaining peace and security in the region.
