"The international folklore festival 'Boysun Bahori' (Boysun Spring) has commenced in the Uzbek city of Boysun. Footage filmed on Friday shows participants wearing traditional attire, dancing and playing musical instruments. "I have been taking part in the 'Boysun Bahori' Festival for five years now, and I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. Here, we present our creativity, the art passed down to us from our ancestors. <...> Our art will never disappear or be forgotten. It will live on forever. It was born in the mountains, in nature, and deep within ancient history, capturing the spirit of our people," said resident Sherali Khursandov. Meanwhile, Feruza Turaiva, spokesperson for the head of the Surkhandarya regional administration, mentioned that guests from across Uzbekistan and abroad are taking part in the event. According to the Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 'Boysun Bahori' will run until 7 May. Sixteen local folklore groups are expected to showcase the country's rich cultural heritage.
