Punjab Police have registered the first case under a new anti-sacrilege law. This action follows the discovery of torn pages from a religious scripture in Sri Muktsar Sahib district. The new law, notified last month, imposes stricter punishments for acts of sacrilege against the Guru Granth Sahib.
