Prague Marathon 2026: City Center to Be Closed, See the Full Route

Prague will host its annual marathon this Sunday, May 3, with thousands of runners expected to pass through the city center, triggering traffic restrictions throughout the day. The 31st edition of the race begins at 8:00 a.m. in Old Town Square. From there, runners will move through some of the city’s most visited areas, following a route that stretches across both banks of the Vltava River. The course leads from Old Town Square along Pařížská Street, across Čechův Most, and into Malá Strana. Participants will cross Charles Bridge before continuing north along the river toward Holešovice and Libeň. The return leg brings runners back toward the center and further south to Podolí before looping back. The full distance remains the standard 42.195 kilometers. Traffic restrictions across Prague Drivers should expect significant disruptions across central Prague for most of Sunday. Key roads will be closed at different times throughout the day, with some restrictions starting early in the morning and lasting into the afternoon. Among the affected locations are Pařížská Street, Národní Street, Smetanovo nábřeží, and Charles Bridge.
